Anything more annoying?

Than pulling your weeks worth of washing out of the machine and finding out that you had a large paper document secreted somewhere?

Than having your house bombed, your children blown up, your water supply poisoned, .... yes, I'd say there were a few more annoying things .....

But these things don't happen in Long Ashton or most of the places we live do they?

Blimey, it sounds like Sheffield has gone downhill since I last visited.

Well said Paul! Certainly put's things in pespective, what you mention above are certainly far more reason to be annoyed about than most things I have seen on the WAB forums.

What about seeing light-hearted threads turn depressingly melancholy...now that's definitely more annoying.

Re: Anything more annoying?

Well, I put a shirt (someone elses) through the washing machine and tumble dryer once, with a cigarette lighter in the pocket!

Re: Anything more annoying?

You have reassembled the malfunctioning item all bar the final screw (1x2mm) the law of chaos then kicks in
You need the loo,the lioness starts vacuuming as soon as you have left the room, your son "tidies up"for the first time since the onset of puberty.By the time you come back the screw has gone "no one has touched it" the tray you were working on and the job have been put away. The mysterious son has disappeared.
First the dust bag, opened out outside(it is always cold)a finger tip and magnetic search is conducted nothing ,the contents are now blowing about and need cleaning up (the lioness is watching the mess and pursing her lips) the mysterious son appears slips his arm around his mother they both laugh.
The job is fetched and shown to me through the glass, there taped neatly to it with clear sellotape is a tiny screw Doh!!

Re: Anything more annoying?

My husband has the cleanest reading glasses in the world. He leaves them in his shirt pockets and they get washed every other week or so.

Re: Anything more annoying?

How about when a work colleague says "I've dropped my contact lens down the wash basin" so you spend two hours disassembling the pipework and sorting through indescribable gunk and have to admit defeat "Sorry, I can't find it". Then the next morning she says cheerily "I was just making the tea and I blinked and my lens reappeared - it had been in my eye all the time!". Is that annoying!

Yes, it's the time of year, isn't it? Commercialism and christianity shoved in your faces but, worst of all, the days continually getting darker and shorter But not for long - the solstice almost on us and the days will be getting longer - even if it's not that noticable .....

I was thinking of Rotherham actually!
But we do get quite a few murders up here and the same amount of pollution as anyone else.
I was thinking of the things that happen over every holiday period - proposals to destroy the green belt and widen the M1 may well become actuality by the time everyone comes round. And, of course, the killings don't stop abroad just because we're not watching the telly. How many murders in Bethlehem this year, I wonder?
Looking forward to, and wishing you all, a happy new year.
