... has just sent me a Christmas card. Amongst the other greetings - Father Christmas's daughters have now left home (Holly and Ivy are both full grown)!

They left for the south
Where the weather is warm
And much less likely.
To encounter a snow storm

But alas when they arrived in the south
The snow was still falling down
They had forgotten their coats
Now they've both got sore throats
Tomorrow they'll have to go shopping in town

When they arrived in town it was still chucking it down
So they bought hats and coats
and something for their throats

Buying waterproof coats
Throu town they did roam
With coughs and sneasles
Weasles and teasle
Daddy Santy says do not come home.

[Barbara]

Soon they began to feel a lot better
And decided to write Santy a letter
Were now both feeling fine and we'll be arriving at nine
We'll bring you a mince pie and your favourite red wine

[Beryl]

You can come home for Christmas dinner
And pull cracker to see who is the winner
But then Santy thunk
I mustn’t get drunk
But must eat or I may find my self thinner

[Ollie]

They arrived at nine
with their mince pies and wine
Oh, how santas nose did shine
even more so after drinking the wine

APPLAUSE !grin grin

[Barbara]

By ten santas nose was still a glowing and the red wine was still a flowing
Santa went outside and looked into Rudolph's eyes
And put some red wine in his water trough without him knowing

[Garden Carpet]

Then Rudolph he said
Santy you get to bed
We'll see to presents galore
muttering under his breath.. what a bore!

[Beryl]

Santy is now very wobbly
The mince food he could not help but gobbley
There were stars in his eyes
When he ate his mince pies
Said "I can’t stand straight and feel all hobbley "

[Barbara]

He trotted off to bed and laid down his head and the stars were still in the sky
He dreamt he was sat in his big red sleigh and that Rudolph was starting to fly
But when he awoke he got such a shock he noticed it was 4 o'clock in the morning
But the biggest shock was yet to come when he realised it was Christmas Day morning

He rushed around in his big red sled
Holly and Ivy tucked up on their bed
Here I come with a ho, ho, ho
Come on reindeers go, go, go
Ooooh that wine has gone to my head

Oh my santy said
while holding his head
to drink to much is folly
I dont seem to feel quite so jolly

[Beryl]

Now Santy is dancing a merry beat
By golly his boot are on the wrong feet
Said Ivy to holly
He seams rather jolly
But I don’t think he’s looking too neat

[Barbara]

Holly turned to Ivy as Santa and Rudolph soared off into the night
Holly said to Ivy do you think they'll loose their way, Ivy said 'I think they might'
You see after we arrived at nine and then clock struck ten
I watched as Santa dissapeared into Rudolph den
Santa was quite a wobbly and he was holding the bottle of wine
And the fact that Rudolph was doing cartwheels could well be a sign

Rudolf was busy tap-dancing
Showing off his brand new hooves
Santy was peering down chimney pots
And sliding down all of the roofs

[Barbara]

As Rudolph tap danced a tricky move
He came unstuck and so did his hoove
Leaning sideways the sleigh and all
Rudolph realised he was going to fall

[Beryl]

Rudolf slipped down, landing head first in the snow
And Santy came tumbling after
He was worried incase Rudolf nose lost is glow
Now that would be a dreadful disaster

[Barbara]

Santa fell right on his head
Now he wished he'd had stayed in bed
Now Rudoph was another matter
Cause if he's lost his glow he would be mad as a hatter
Santa knocked on the house next door
And asked to borrow a spade from their coal store

[Beryl]

Now Holly and Ivy looked on in despair
Thought the wine they had brought was too strong
But Santy and Rudolf the irascible pair
Were dancing and singing along

[Garden Carpet]

Said Santy to Rudolf enough of this wine
You look like your floating at the end of a line
Oh Santy said Rudolph oh what a sight
It isnt me.. its a blooming great kite!

[Barbara]

Santas jaw fell wide open when he witnessed this awful sight
He realised it was little Robbie Grimshaw's kite flying off into the night
He cried we'll have to catch it quickly Rudolph prepare for full super speed ahead
Because if we don't catch it very soon we'll have to leave Robbie a little doll instead

[Beryl]

Now Santy said “Rudolf, I’d like to bop”
So Rudolf took Santy to a Christmas hop
Santy hopped to the left, Rudolf hopped to the right
And they met again later on that night
Santy bopped in through the back door
Rudolf hopp in through the front
Santy said Rudolf that was a good stunt
