| | | Sport Personality Who do you fancy?
For me it has to be Joe Calzaghe. Number One since he dropped Eubank. Probably wont get it though.
Button - He hasn't done anything yet
Daz Clarke - Good sportsman and a true gent. I think he will win
Nicole Cooke - Who? And I am a keen cyclist
Hatton - Good pugilist, good lad. Not the pedigree of Calzaghe
Murray - No personality
Panesar - Unheard of a year ago. Maybe in a year or two
Phillips - Born with so much privilege. Will no doubt get something off grandma anyway
Taylor - Not a sport
Tweddle - Minority sport, wont get the votes (unfortunately)
The whole thing is a fix anyway. Massively skewed by the BBC who give airtime to those they wish to win.
Should be called Sports Person of the year as few of the previous winners are personalities -
Mansell for example. Have you ever heard him talk. Best cure for insomnia is one of his inspirational talks |

Some years there are obvious candidates (e.g. Flintoff last year) but other years they seem to have to scrape the barrel to come up with a short-list. Quote:

| | | Re: Sport Personality Calzaghe is unbeaten since he took the belt off Eubank. That is some achievement. The Americans, whom doubted his ability, sent over one tough contender, in Jeff Lacey, and Calzaghe despatched of him with some style outpunching him by about 10:1 with up to 30 unanswered consequetive shots in one round. 10 years earlier he would have done Watson, Collins, Benn, the lot. Unbelievable talent in one tough sport |

Matt | I thought she looked suitably embarrassed, and unprepared, and how dull?
Yet again, less than a shock result and more of a farcical one |

Yet again, less than a shock result and more of a farcical one | she did look quite embarrassed didn't she? She obviously didn't think she deserved it either.

Young personality of the year, yup, a player that went to world cup, didn't play (so that's a bonus for him), played what, twice for Arsenal this year? |
