| | | Wishing you a very merry Christmas It is getting near that time of year again so I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
May the Christmas fairy sprinkle your life with good cheer and may all your hopes and dreams come true ..... unless they are illegal, immoral or make you fat.
Love Susie xx

Normally I would agree with you but my computer will be packed away tomorrow as I am moving house on Tuesday and I don't expect to be back on line for at least two or three weeks after that - by then it will be too late!

Anyway, I celebrate the solstice - the days start getting longer and you can at last see the possibility of light evenings again .... with a bit of imagination ....
I don't mind celebrating the new year - a good hootenany - but let's wait a few weeks before the auld langs syne .... how would that come out on a spell-checker? Quote:

jaki... deck the halls with boughs of holly... tralalala la.lalala la... | That confounded song has been going through my head for a couple of days. I'd got rid of it and now you've brought it back ---- aagh! I think it's because all the shops have started doing christmassy musak - I was in town getting the last of my solstice presents last week and was bombarded with that stuff. Does it actually encourage people to buy things? In my case it makes me want to get out of the shop asap ...
There is one xmas song that I like - 'God rest ye, merry gentlemen' - don't know why, I just like the tune: especially when it was done by the Modern Jazz Quartet. Otherwise, I stick to wassailling songs and Shane McGowan .... |

They started playing Christmas songs in some of the shops at the beginning of November - before bonfire night! Makes me want to high-tail it outta there too.

| | | Re: Wishing you a very merry Christmas Whilst you have got everybodys attention regarding Christmas wishes, I think you all should give some consideration to sending e-cards to your friends and family this year.
Whilst most of us recycle our used cards afterwards, we can actually do away with them by logging on to the following link (apologies to those of you who already do this) Send an e-card this Christmas with Envirowise - Envirowise
Just think 6000+ members not sending 50+ cards each is a few environmentally sustainable trees not being used for cards and envelopes.
Another advantage of recieving e-cards is that you don't need to find space on your walls/doors/bins to hang them, and e-cards are not a potential fire hazard.
The downside is that you will be contributing to increased carbon emissions by turning on your PC and using additional electricity to view them all.
Worth considering?
