Re: Help needed building a web site.

Nice job John. Looks like it will be easy to navigate too. I like the green-that's restful on the eye and shows off your shots well on the homepage.Looking forward to more.

Thanks Julie

Is there anything that you think could be improved or added?

I deliberately chose green because it was easy on the eye plus green is really associated with wildlife. I was thinking of both Green and Brown but settled for the two shades of green in the end.

I can't wait to get it online and start getting my photos on. Then there will trip reports from my December trip to Spain, plus a trip report, and my trip to Lesbos in May, again complete with trip report and photos. I will also be doing Norfolk in the first week in January so there are some busy times ahead of me once this site is up and running.

I love the way the photos come out of the camera on the welcoming page.It is simple and has impact which is perfect for what you are aiming for.I look forward to the finished site and as soon as you have your own domain and site do send the link and I will put the link on my site

It'd be nice if you had somewhere that we can sign a visitors book. I always think that's a nice touch-then you can collect positive comments. Just a thought.

Otherwise-I'm impressed. You can give me some tips if I ever get round to sorting a website out.

Hi Julie

That will be on there but can't be added until it becomes a functional site that is being hosted. that is part of the hosting sites package. I will have a vistors counter as well when it is up and running.

It won't be me giving tips it would be David. He deserves all the plaudits. The colour schemes are down to me and the content but the design is all David's and he deserves all the recognition for that.

Re: Help needed building a web site.

Well I take my hat off to you both. John for his dedication to wanting his own site and acheiving it and to Dai for all his help. Well done both of you .I can't find any thing to be critical about, it'a great site and will most certainly grow. I already have it in my favorites from the index so each time I go there the index come up first.

Re: Help needed building a web site.

We have hit a problem. We have now attached the gallery to the web site and done the various links to the buttons in my site. Opening my site up in Internet Explorer and everything works ok but in Firefox the Gallery button doesn't work. Any ideas why?

It has baffled David and he doesn't know why this is happening.

He hasn't got Opera. Can anyone test this site in Opera to see if the buttons work ok please. It works ok in Safari so at the moment Firefox looks like it has a problem with this site.

Here is the site. index

Has anyone got any ideas why this is happening and how to rectify it.

if you can open the gallery don't worry about the content or the colour. The skin will be changed to something else later in the week. I am now going to do something about adding various catergories to the gallery before starting to upload the photos. So far I have added two photos just to see what they look like.
