Re: Computer Shopper HeadsUp

QuarkExpress 5 was on the computer shopper CD LAST WEEK!

It hasn't been superceded by In Design - despite what Adobe may tell you. In fact QuarkExpress 7 is relatively new. I use both 5 and 6.5 daily at work on both PC and MAC - and all three of the print houses that I supply layouts too are still firmly on the Quark path.

thats a matter of opinion , most of the designers and publications that i work with have gone over to indesign for more seemless integration with the adobe creative suite.

I'm sure Quark is a great bit of kit but it is still disingenuous to describe version 5 as "over £880 worth of software" when the current version is 7 which costs £629 - the reason they are giving version 5 away is because it is pretty much unsalable now.

I'm sure it's very good.

Indeed - and as usual the new version of Quark will only work with one version below itself.
