Seems an interesting programme on C4 shortly channel4.com - TV Listings I'll be interested to see if Norman Tebbit could qualify to play cricket for Pakistan ....

It was interesting, but predictable. After all, if you go back far enough, we all originate from Africa anyway!

ps: careful where you go with this though, we don't want to get too political!

I'm not going anywhere - just thought it a good laugh!
Interesting how far we can go nowadays in tracing ancestry. Not all that interesting in humans but casting some light on past geographic movements of animals ....

Well 'they' tell us canines originated, or rather evolved in the Americas, and felines in Africa I believe. Any others? Or are you thinking of more 'modern' times?

Was interesting when an early skull was found somewhere in this country (was it cheddar gorge way?) and they traced it's ancestors still living in that area.

If you knew some of the people who live in a village near to me you would swear that Neanderthal man was not extinct!

It was somewhere around Weston-Super-Mud (if I remember correctly) so yes.

I have read that there is more genetic diversity between African tribes than there is between Eskimoes and Caucasians due to all we 'Out of Africans' coming from the same small stock of emigrants.
