| | | Marine fish Does anybody on here keep marine fish? i see they are increasingly popular in pet shops/garden centres. I would quite like to keep some, the idea of having seahorses, hermit crabs, starfish or octopus rather than a goldfish is quite apealing but I wouldn't go into it lightly. My dad kept tropical fish and one lived to about 20yrs old. They're not the easiest things to keep. I also don't like the idea of them being caught wild and transported so i'd have to look into that. |

| | | Re: Marine fish Honeybee, I used to keep tropicals too. My understanding of one of the difficulties involved in keeping marine was the salinity of the water. No doubt that has been overcome these days. Good luck with them. I had to leave mine behind when I moved ... and I do miss them

| | | Re: Marine fish That would not suprise me!!!
I seem to remember that some keepers of marine used to use seawater and just warmed it..living on an island (guernsey) that was ok... dont suppose you can do that where you are!!
