| | | Nibley bird farm Has anyone been here? It's near Bristol, was going to look at their chickens but don't want to go if it's horrible. Cheers. |

| | | Re: Nibley bird farm My neighbour buys chicken feed, and her chickens from there. I will be going myself in the next few days. I hear it is very good. Want me to give more feedback when I have been myself? I intend buying 4 chickens but am still building their coop at present. |

| | Re: Nibley bird farm Since I replied to your post we have had a change of heart and are taking on some ex-battery hens. They have awful lives and it will be wonderful to see them free range. If you want more info on this increasingly popular route try: Battery Hens - The Battery Hen Welfare Trust
They can advise you when the next rescues are and they to deliver to within half hour of Bristol.

My friend and I still maintain Nibley Bird Farm is excellent, especially if you want to choose your own hens and breeds, the birds are looked after really really well.
Sorry I couldn't help you further but maybe you will find the info provided useful too, best wishes. |

I did see a programme a while ago where somebody had some rescue battery birds (can you believe it's still going on..hopefully be outlawed soon) RSPCA || Chickens
I think Gloucester action for animals rescued a few recently from some horrible place.
Well done you anyway..I hope they're not too traumatised from their ordeal, I'm sure they'll have a happy home. I will consider it and I am about half an hour from Bristol. I have quite a small garden and wanted about 4 fancy little ones which were good egg layers- with the hope of occassionally having fresh eggs. i got some good books from Amazon.
Good luck with the chickens!

Think they do more than just chickens.
