| | | Computer mouse problems I don't know why but sometimes, normally when online, my mouse scroll wheel will move me forward and backwards through my browsing instesd of scrolling the page up and down. The left button goes stupid as well. This selects multiple items on the page instead of what I select.
Any ideas?

| | | Re: Computer mouse problems Some mousewheels also have a push-button function, and when the mousewheel is pushed/depressed at the same time as scrolling it can affect the function of the mousewheel. This could be causing it, although its unlikely.
Alternatively, there are standard keyboard shortcuts used in conjuction with mousewheels.
For example, if you hold the Left Ctrl button and use the mouse wheel, it will decrease/increase the font size of text on a webpage.
Holding Alt while using the mousewheel will slow down the rate at which a page scrolls.
There could be a shortcut like this for forward/back. My guess is it will be something along these lines why you are experiencing these actions.
A mouse can be optical and PS2, the alternatives to optical are ball or laser, not PS2, which denotes the round 6 pin connector type. The opposites of PS2 are usb or serial. |
