Does anyone want to join me?

I have decided to book a week from Nov 7th in Cornwall staying at the Lands End Vineries. Here is a link to it. Into Cornwall, Accommodation in Land's End, Holiday Accommodation in Land's End, b&b in Land's End, hotel in Land's End, bed and breakfast in Land's End, The Land's End Vineries, Self catering holiday bungalows

Does anyone fancy joining me. It is £135 for the place I am renting and it would be great if I had someone to join me.

On the plus side, I know the area very well. I have a pager so if any rare birds came up we could go for them. The costs wouldn't be high as we would share the costs. I drive a very economical diesel Astra Estate which is capable of 55+ on a run and 50 in Urban areas so diesel would work out fairly cheap.

I can't think of a downside as it is such a beautiful area that just being down there is a big plus on it's own.

If more than one wanted to join me I could ask if one of their larger properties are vacant.

If you lived north of Coventry you could meet me at my place and leave your car there (off the road and in a driveway) or if south of me I could possibly pick you up on the way down.

I look forward to any responses.

John

Sorry we can't make it with you John, but if anyone was considering it, I am sure they would not be disappointed after the great day we had out with you in Anglesey.

Thanks Barbara. nice to hear from you again.

I suppose it's a tall order asking someone to join me for a week. After all not many people know me personally on this Forum do they. Still, you never know.

Well I can vouch that you are very good company John and know your stuff, and if someone cannot join you for the week maybe someone can manage the odd day or two if they live near that part of Cornwall. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Shame you can't make it. We have met so the ice would have been broken to start with.

Hi Barbara

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

That's a good point about any local WAB members. If anybody wanted to meet me for a day then PM me and I will give you my mobile number.

Re: Does anyone want to join me?

Hello John from one of the new Cornish contingent.
Unfortunately you have picked the week that I'm off to Sardinia, so I can't even come and meet you for a day, but I'm sure you'll have a great time. The place is looking pretty good at the moment, between the rain. We seem to be having binary weather at the moment with fantastic days sandwiched between total write-off pouring with rain days.

Pete.

Can't join you but it will still be worth looking out for late butterflies in that part of the world especially non hibernating species such as the Small Copper, Speckled Wood and Large & Small Whites.

I will be on the lookout for anything that moves. I was also hoping for a possible late Monarch but I think the week I'm there will be a tad bit too late.

I will probably take my moth trap with me and run it at the place I am staying at. You never know, I might pick up a few new species for me.

Re: Does anyone want to join me?

By the time you guys read this I will be off. I will be back on Nov 12th.

Look after the site whilst I'm away won't you.

If anyone is in Cornwall next week keep your eyes peeled for an old fella with a cream coloured Birdforum baseball cap on.
