Time of the year

What an awful time of the year for wildlife, Fox hunting ( it's still going on! ) and fireworks, from what I've heard tonight they must be terrified. I went to feed the foxes tonight and in a quiet area of the countryside I thought I was in Iraq! Why can't people let the fireworks off in their gardens, why go up to the fields and woods to do it.

Re: Time of the year

I don't complain too much about tonight. Afterall it is supposed to be the one night that is dedicated to it but it just seems every event is punctuated with fireworks now. You should try living in London or Birmingham or Leicester - every weekend for any occasion.

I live 10 or so miles East of Leicester & every evening for the last fortnight when you look in that direction it has looked & sounded like world war III!!

The combination of Diwali & the run up to bonfire night creates mayhem, I'm all for people enjoying themselves but it gets just a bit O.T.T. round here at this time of year, it must have an effect on wildlife even at this distance!

On the local radio someone mentioned that there was to be a 'pretty' fireworks display somewhere in the region- lots of coloured lights but NO BANGS. What a good idea!

Nowadays every fireawork seems to have to bang, but I don't recall it being like that when I was a boy

Re: Time of the year, fireworks should they be banned

I was out last night and it reminded me of the guns over Sarajevo. A group of lads set off a 32 air bomb repeater with a huge bang every 1-2 seconds about 100m away, but by the 10th bang they were getting bored with it and walked away
