I do feel that some of the recent additions /alterations to the site have
detracted from what the site was all about, in particular the removal of
The Treehouse from recent posts(now "recent wild posts")and the rather
twee (and empty) "recent community posts" is it just me as usual?

It is just you. If your recent community posts are empty you have something wrong as there are always 5 displayed. You need to speak to Stu as it looks as though you may have closed them. There used to be an arrow, which I can't see any more that gave you the option to open or close either trhe wild or community posts section, but I, and judging by the many replies, and many others can see 5 community posts as I sit here now |

Infact I just found it after refreshing my page
Have a look at this screenshot 
See the arrow I have ringed? Click on it and the posts should appear. You need to make sure it is pointing up. YOU WILL ONLY GET TO SEE THE ARROW ON THE FORUM FRONT PAGE AND NOT ON A THREAD PAGE
It is designed so that those not wishing to see community posts can opt out of having them on the forum front page.
