| | | Today in my garden I saw........ ....... a quail...just happened to look out of the kitchen window and there he was...not ten feet from me... I turned to get the camera and of course as soon as he realised I was holding a camera he flew off. What a shame.
Made me wonder what you see in your gardens you dont expect to see.. Sheryl had a lovely Sparrow Hawk... what else has been seen.

| | | Re: Today in my garden I saw........ lucky lady your old dear... maybe he will come back... since seeing the quail I have been wondering how often he or his pals might come to visit... my dogs often growl at something inthe garden in the night..they see something through the french windows to my bedroom. Perhaps this isnt the first time.

| | | Re: Today in my garden I saw........ Garden Carpet- there can't be many people who've had a Quail in their garden. I've never seen one in UK , but heard them a few times.
First one I saw was in a park in Eilat when it flew past me. Wasn't sure what it was at first, but when someone said they had seen a Quail + I realised that's what it was- fortunately I saw it again on the ground. I've also seen them in Kazakhstan. Certainly a lot easier to hear (like Corncrake!) than see, so I'm green with envy at your sighting! |

I often see them around here... once saw a mommy bird with twelve little quailing running along behind her... followed them for nearly 50 yards before she took em off the road... wonderful sight.... Come to lincs to see em... sure they wont mind me giving out their address to a WABber

| | | Re: Today in my garden I saw........ We used to get Quail in out garden quite regularly. We found that they tended to follow set runs that they would rarely deviate from. I have not seen them in our area for a few years now and suspect they are gone altogether. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
