Red face Tip of the Day

Please remember, don't forget - if you intend to 'glance' at the Wild About Britain Newspaper, Gallery, Forums, Reference sections etc. you might just get absorbed and forget that you are multi-tasking.

Yes, folks, it happened to me today. As I sat here at the computer the aroma of cooking beetroot wafted towards me. I sprinted through to the kitchen to find beetroot juice splattered over a radius of at least 1m - up, down and sideways.

An early 'Spring Clean' was called for!!! I probably looked like my avatar.

Re: Tip of the Day

You must know what I mean nightshade - it's when you squirt cleaner round the sink in the bathroom and leave it to work, put some washing in the machine, add dye to work on your hair, loosen the dirt on the car to clean off later, amuse the kids, cook the dinner etc. etc. .................. All in the the life of a wife's working day. Then sit down and log on to Wild About Britain. Aaah!

So you still have to keep Stuart amused, then? Isn't WAB enough for him?

Re: Tip of the Day

Novel, nightshade, I'm still cleaning up the beetroot juice (2 days later, still finding it)! And as for amusing Stu, henrya, on the contrary he taught me all I know about e.g. juggling (I just can't co-ordinate).

On a serious note folks, the roads this week are very slippery after so much dry weather, and now we have rain on fallen leaves - a lethal combination. (I know from experience how such accidents can happen. Many years ago in the Cotswolds we spotted a car coming towards us - but felt the driver hadn't seen our car - we pulled in to the side of the narrow uphill road and waited. Sure enough, the other vehicle came round the bend straight into us. Although the driver braked, the leaves just induced a skid. Nobody was injured but the outcome could have been rather different).

So please leave more time for your journeys, and drive safely.

Re: Tip of the Day

I know what you mean about leaves on the road a car pulled out late in front
of me and accelerated away, only to go nowhere due to the rain slick leaves,
when traction eventualy came it shot off down the road, back end swining dangerously

Re: Tip of the Day

My road is completely full of leaves at the moment, add to that, a long winding road on a hill, a recipe for disaster!

Slightly off topic, but each time I open my door, half a tree ends up in the hallway! (by that I mean leaves!)
