| | | W.A.B Titchwell day out A few of us are meeting up for the day next Saturday 28th October at the Titchwell RSPB reserve in North Norfolk.
Its an excellent time of year to visit what has to be one of the UK's premier bird reserves with just about anything in the way of migrants being possible.
If you fancy joining us then just place a post on this thread. We aim to meet in the carpark at 9:30.

Have fun and I hope the whiskered tern shows for you

| | | Re: W.A.B Titchwell day out This is a meet that has been arranged for some time with a few of my friends. A couple of them are WAB members (Diane & Pete). It would be great if more WAB members could join us.
As Steve has said, it is an ideal time to visit Titchwell as almost anything could turn up in the vicinity. I will be carrying a pager so if anyone wanted to go off rarity hunting I could let you know what was about on the day.
I doubt if I will go chasing as I am thinking of extending my stay through most of the following week, as I have booked a week off work.
I will be interested to see who can join us.
BTW we are meeting up in the car park at 09:30am on Oct 28th.

We will still be around on Saturday afternoon so if you wanted my mobile number you could ring me to see where we were. Also one or two of us will still be around on the Sunday in that area so if you wanted to meet up then that should be possible also.

I fully intend to start the new year in Norfolk and will probably spend Monday the 1st through to the Saturday over that way.

Caj | Hi colin
We had an excellent one at Minsmere with Ivan. There were about twenty BF members there and it was a great day. Done a few up north and around Bempton as well as a few Norfolk ones and have only found one of them to be lacking. You must have chosen one of the bad ones and that was bad luck.
I did a dragonfly meet with Fourwings and a few more WAB members earlier this year and it was a great day out. Mind you I organised an Anglesey WAB meet and only 4 turned up and two of those were going anyway.
Why don't you give it some thought. Some old friends are coming Colin. Pete & Diane you know. Corinna I think you know. Fourwings is good company and he is coming. I haven't met Boddie yet but he sounds a right character. It has the makings of a good meet.

I sort of understand, often the thrill of birding is the solitude. |

| | | Re: W.A.B Titchwell day out I have already been down to buy my packed lunch for tomorrow.
Baguettes with frikadellen and humous and brie and Mexican and Mediterranean style cheese.
I will have a nice flask of coffee.
I went to Asda in the hope that they still had some of the Collins Birds books as I was going to buy some for WAB members who do not have a store nearby. Unfortunately none left. I did however find that their Wisdom Easy Floss sets had been reduced from £11.97 to £1.97. I was dubious so asked a girl on the pharmacy to check.
They scanned at £1.30. Needless to say I emptied the shelf and now have enough flossing sets for the next 5 years.
What do you reckon to that? |
