I'd be up for this one even though it would mean going on a boat, something I dread.. The thought of those Puffins and Terns though would be worth it..

I would be up for that but be mindful that it isn't a cheap day out. To do this you would have to book the all dayer (which is actually only five and a half hours out). It does both Staple Island and Inner Farn and gives you about two hours on each island. The cost in total would be £30.20p each (£25 boat trip and £5.20 landing fee). Here is a link to the charges.

Plenty of beer the night before and a good fried breakfast that morning and you'll be fine

Considering I don't drink or eat fried breakfasts, perhaps that's why I get seasick! I'll have to try your recommendation..

plus of course the b+b or campsite fees cos i'm not driving all that way and back in one day

btw talking of seabird venues is it still possible to visit bass rock - they were talking about ending landings there which would be a real shame - even if i did get sprayed with gunk by a petrel last time i landed there

I have only been to the Farnes once but that was in Autumn so haven't witnessed the breeding season there. That might be a trip I could be up for as well.

Here are a few links that may be worth looking at.

Hello everyone - this is my first post here, so I hope I'm not out of order in adding a link to the photos my husband took when we visited the Farne Islands last year:

Hi Elizabeth

I wondered when you would make your first post. Good to see you again at Titchwell the other day.

Anyway, a warm welcome from me to WAB.

John
