fantastic Seal Trip

This weekend we (that is andrew, Gill, and I) were in norfolk principally to photography the seals on blakeney point. we went with these guys
Blakeney Seal Trips with Beans Boats and you can see from the photo how close they got us , they did a top notch job and I'm happy to reccomend them for anyone wanting to get good pictures of seals.

I'm deffo heading back up there when the Grey Seals pup

We also went to snettisham , and although the tide was out we still saw a nice assortment of waders most of which were too far away to photograph , although I did get this chap - not sure what it is though

alround a top weekend , good weather , good photos , good food and good company , and cute little seals

eeyore

Sounds like you had a great weekend and thanks for posting your photos.

I strongly second your recommendation of Beans Boats. I took a trip with them last year and the photo opportunties for the Common and Grey Seals was just fantastic.

Your mystery wader? .... I would go for Knot. There will be 1000's of these at Snettisham as the winter comes on.

Richard

Re: fantastic Seal Trip

I would have said from my book a green sandpiper, as beak looks too long for a Knot but I am probably wrong.

It was a fantastic weekend and I too would recommend Beans. Great trip, with a very knowledable guide and the company was first class

It is definitely not a Green Sandpiper and I would still say Knot.

Any other offers to clinch the ID from anyone else?

Richard

Thanks for the recommendation eeyore.

Whilst I can day trip north Norfolk from where I live, an overnight stop would make things so much easier and allow a short break as you did.

I thought it was a bit too dumpy/stocky for a Dunlin, hence my suggested Knot.

Any other thoughts anyone? .... Dunlin or Knot or something else?

Richard

I think it's a Dunlin, the bill looks too long for a Knot.

I really don't think it's a curlew sandpiper it's just not as delicate, yes dunlin are usually in flocks but you do get them in ones, twos and threes.
