Forget energy saving lightbulbs, if the government wants everyone to save electricity they should make Halloween a holiday every day of the year. Tonight our village is full of houses with people in, but all their lights are turned off  - kids knocking on the door wanting sweets, bah, humbug  |

Aha, that IS one of the advantages of living out in the boonies! Casual visitors don't know the house is there! haha. |

That's true - I've never seen a trick-or-treater, carol-singer or Jehovah's Witness. And the TV Licensing people keep on writing threatening letters, but they never arrive at the door! Even the Census Taker failed to find me.
