Purely for interests sake I am currently listening to the new album by Evanescence called "The open door", quite honestly the best album that I have heard in the last 5 years | I listen to music all the time when I am online too. I downloaded The Open Door last week but can't say I was particularly impressed with it apart from a couple of tracks. I was disappointed cos I loved the last album.
I listen to a bit of everything, especially indy, but am a huge fan of Muse at the moment. It really depends on my mood - I tend to play very loud rock in the car.

At the mo I'm listening to Mirelle Mathieu. I can't understand a word of what she's singing, I just like her anyway.

Pretty eclectic tastes but I draw the line at metal, don't understand it, give me some Marvin Gaye or Chicane.
Get all my downloads from Allofmp3, Russian site dead cheap although the legality is unclear. |

Enough already
You want thepiratebay.com
Different standard. Allows you to download full albums. Not like rubbish Limewire with single tracks only. |

| | | Re: WAB music!! Strewth, rockers galore, just goes to show never judge a book by it's cover, Top of my list Pink Floyd, in particular 'pulse' listening to 'The Wall' at moment. recently got into 'Nightwish' and 'Evansence' (pure brilliance), but still heavily into Boston, AC/DC (saw them at MK Bowl awsome). Be-Bop Deluxe!. Guns and Roses, Thunder, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zep, Saxon, Def Leppard, Trivium, Gary Moore, Van Halen, Nickelback, Marseille, Montrose, and many many others. and on the lighter side, Dire Straits, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis, Carpenters etc and being a keyboard player, Rick Wakeman (solo and Yes), Carl Rhichter (Cathederal Organs). When my son was a about 18 months to two years old he used to lay in his pram and hum Smoke on the water, that away to go kiddo. Now I borrow stuff. Best all get together for a WAB Rock night. |

| | | Re: WAB music!! A huge mix for me! Rock: Foo Fighters, Alanis Morissette, Led Zep, Black Sab, Chili Peppers, The Cult, Slipnot, Metalica.
Evanescence are superb – checkout the acoustic version of Bring me to life if you can find it!
Others include: Amel Larrieux, Sheryl Crow, Natalie Imbruglia, Dido.
Also like a lot of classical (mostly adagios): Mahler’s 5th. Barber – Adagio for strings. Elgar – Enigma variations, Sospiri, Cello Concerto. Vaughan Williams – Fantasia on the theme of Thomas Tallis. Jaquin Rodrigo – Concierto de Aranjuez. Listen to Classic FM also.
Particularly like a lot of movie soundtrack albums such as Lord of the rings, Gladiator, Dracula etc. |

All from the Back to Mine range
All good Cd's. All the same format i.e. what they would play if you went back to theirs to chill some.
Even if you are not in their normal music, they are all very good CD's. The Faithless one must be 4 years old now at least, maybe nearer 6, but still a classic
I also recommend Kruder and Dorfmeister, Different standard |

Lots of you seem to like the heavy stuff.
Well count me in, currently Slayers - Christ Illusion is getting the playtime on my iRiver along with System of a Down, Slipknot (i know i know) , Metallica, Nine Inch Nails and then a few cheerful ones like My Dying Bride and Anathema etc. Then some of the old Goth favs like Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim and OLD Cure.

right so all those massive parties you used to go to......... quiet and reserved were they? ... hee hee
There's not a lot of music I don't like..... this week I have been mostly listening to:
Beck (lot of Beck going through my own personal Beck revival), Public Enemy, The Ugly Duckling, fun lovin' criminals, Groove Armada and primal scream. Oh and the Black Keys new album, if you like rock and aren't familiar with them have a listen - not massively original but amazing and there's only two of them Rubber tree is the better album
The last Band I saw live was Pearl Jam, they utterly rocked my world.....
Not a big fan of Evanescence but I afraid that's due to association rather than the music I have had two blokes in my life really into this band and I'd rather forget about both of them to be frank!!! Music only reminds me of them.....
I don't have access to the internet at home at the mo but as I have the house to myself I don't need to drown anyone out! At work I listen to BBC 6 Music, which I very much recommend if you have DAB |

I am an avid rad 2 listener, but often like to look around elsewhere, but find it all, erm, not to my taste, though a bit of classic fm does me good once in a while, but they do sometimes play wailing women...... |

| | | Re: WAB music!! funny isn't it that most people here probably sit quietly listening to the birds sing and watching the wildlife but most of us like our rock!!
Some good bands listed..
Don't really have music on when I'm on here but for me it's 60's psych/garage/punk/blues and some calmer stuff like davy graham, nick drake, francois hardy. Gutted that all my heroes are dying off..Syd barrett and Arthur Lee etc
Love the Smiths, I worship at the church of Mozz.
was an indie kid as a teenager, was all britpop and saw all the bands.
Bands of the moment, love the k chiefs (my daughters fave), arctic monkeys and so on.
Listen to classical trying to get to sleep..love Mozart/ Vaughn Williams etc.
Play bass (don't get time now) so love anything with a groovy bass riff such as sabbath, motorhead, joy division etc.
