Windy? I'll Say!

Is it as windy elsewhere as it is here?

My goodness, it may look calm but this morning and yesterday afternoon the wind has been so strong, it's blown our front door open, which in turn flings the living room door open which was pushed too, then both doors of the french windows have burst open dramatically!

Our house Rabbit is freaking out, running in circles madly, the sparrows who have been feeding on the patio, take off in great fright, calling out in an agitated manner, my heart's racing and I have to use brute force, pushing my shoulder into the door to close it

And then sudddenly it's calm again.

I half expected there to be a tall moody man in a cloak and wide brimmed hat standing in the doorway, hehe!

It is also very windy here in South Yorkshire although as you say there is the odd spell when all seems calm.

With it being this windy I wonder if Elton John and Bruce Forsythe have to stay in doors

I recall once when my brother was little, he was walking along holding my mum's hand and her friends and the winds were so strong, he was taking off!
