I read somewhere either on here or in bbc wildlife magazine or countryman mag that the word "chestnut" loses the middle T when referring to horse colour?...
I loved this little tidbit..."after dinner fact" ,the trouble is...no one believes me or argues that its incorrect?
So is it?....any horsey types on here?

My dictionary gives chesnut as an alternative spelling, now rare. I have a couple of horsey friends so I'll ask.
