| | | WAB Winter Solstice Moot Those of you who have been following the H.P. thread will know about this idea & those of you who haven this is it.
Howz about we have a gathering of WABers for a Winter Solstice Moot. I am in the process of getting info from a possible venue; The Green Dragon Inn, in Cockford near Cheltenam. It's near where Sheryl lives. Green Dragon Inn, Cowley, Gloucestershire
If there is a good response I'll take it further, we're looking at Friday 22nd/Sat.23rd one night, could be two. Bring your festive pieces with you, I've got a Solstice yarn to weave around you. Let's make it a yearly event & have an alternative to Xmas.
If the inn can't get in some Mead I'll be bringing some. Can't celebrate the re-birth of the Sun, the Light of the Earth without Mead.

is in the woods down an old track, doesn't show inside, it's got nice sofas and log fires and stuffed animals (not nice really but they're ancient and it adds to atmosphere), get a mixed bunch in there...lords and ladies, agri students, locals |

Actually spent quite a few happy hours in Hailey Wood along a track past the Tunnel House watching Silver-washed Fritillaries. |

| | | Re: WAB Winter Solstice Moot Anywhere between Chelt and Ciren is cool for me. I asked Bowdie and he is happy to take me out that far (hates driving at night, especially long distances. It brings on bad headaches for him for some reason).
It's the first day of October as I type this and we're having the most incredible Thunderstorm right now. What a thrilling start to October!!!
I always feel totally energised by them and want to go out in the straight away! The lightning flashes are blinding and bowdie just said during the last rumble he could feel his desk shake!!! Sorry, I digress. All the venues mentioned so far sound great.

| | | Re: WAB Winter Solstice Moot Let's see how many WABers come forward by Full Moon on Saturday. If we have 10 then I think we can go ahead & look to book a venue, my monies on The Green Dragon Inn Can't leave it too long.

Lets see who we've got so far:
1. Earth Hart
2 & 3. Me and my partner Bowdie too
4. Jonny
5. speckled Wood
6. honeybee
7. Boddie
8(?). with Mr Mag00 a possible, maybe.
I've sent this thread to a friend of mine who has only just joined WAB, its possible she and her partner might be interested too. so, maybe 9 & 10.
No reason why we can't bring like minded non-WAB-ers along I imagine? How about your friend Meles meles, Will?
If its the Green Dragon, Bowdie and I wouldn't need to stay overnight, he doesn't drink so will be fine to drive us home. Susie Its a real shame you cant come, it would have been really nice to meet you, but there will be other opportunities I'm sure |

| | | Re: WAB Winter Solstice Moot Yes, with WABers & partners & like-minded friends we could do it.
As for Meles meles, she lives in Kent & has only just turned 18. She's a friend's grandaughter. I walk alone but I'll ask Beithe if she would like to come though she may be going to Kent for Xmas.
Re: Booking; The Green Dragon Inn has those dates free, I'll email today to hold the 22nd & leave the main booking until Saturday.
Just remembered; got to get an extra case of Moniack Mead

Unluckily I can't make these dates which is a real shame because the area around the Green Dragon is my local patch hope you all have a wicked time | | | |
