Chi Chi

Hi all, I know this isnt exactly wildlife ... my wee chihuahua has to have some teeth out tomorrow. Not normaly a worry but the poor wee chap has a heart defect which means the anesthetic is a serious risk for him. Am driving myself mad with anxiety despite applying my 'worry doesnt change anything' principle.

He has a lot of health problems.. bit like his mum (me) really... he was a rescue and they are more or less all related to his previous bad treatment. Beats me why people pay a small fortune for an animal then treat it so badly it was hours from death when rescued!!

Sorry for ranting. Please could you all cross fingers etc for him. Ta xx

Jaki.. and Gizmo

Re: Chi Chi

Good luck to Gizmo
If he/shes got tooth ache, its best to have them out. I had tooth ache at the begining of summer & I was about ready to rip them out myself.

Re: Chi Chi

I know how you feel keeping fingers crossed for you.My dog was hit by a van outside my house last week and the vet didnt give much for her chances. She is a lab, collie corgi cross and is the mostt loving dog you could wish to meet.We were heartbroken. She had broken and dislocated her hock and there was a crack in her spine. The vet did what he could by putting the joint back but was worried as she wasnt using her good back leg.He said if she used it she may be ok.There was talk of amputation to the bad one but that wasnt done.At one point it really looked bad,but my husband went up to visit her and took her out to the grass at vets and had a word in her ear(he is Tammys fave person)That day she stood and squatted and peed. The vet operated Friday to put a plate in to keep the hock from disjointing again and she came home Saturday.I cannot go out at the moment I will not leave her.She didnt walk Sunday and we started to worry again,Then yesterday she got herself out to the garden twice. But today she went out reluctant on the good leg again and hasnt gone out at all.2 steps forward 1 back. She has to have her bandages replaced tomorrow which may help .So I will be crossing fingers and toes for both you dog and mine.Keep faith the power of love can be a wonderful thing

Power of thought and love
So glad gizmo is ok very happy for you.
Tammy was back at the vet for a new bandage today and has just come home again and we have to carry her too and fro the garden for her needs as she has been putting to much weight on her bad leg.I have to watch her closely and have put a stairgate across the doorway so she cant go to far.So no going out for a while for me but she is more important at the moment.Mind you with my hernia I cant lift her so hubby takes her out b4 work and pops back at lunchtime

I'm glad Gizmo is doing okay Jaki

Cherrybee, your dog is just beautiful! We know three collie cross corgi's, they look like permanent pups! One is so small she looks like a Fox!

Thanks she is and we are so glad we have her home last week looked very bleak.
Tammy is normal size well a bit smaller than a lab its just her legs that are short. It was a corgi breeder that said her father must have been a corgi judging by her legs and paws and her mum was a collie cross so she is a hienz dog with the temperament of a lab Soft

Chihuahua.... taken me five years to get it right honeybee... they are gorgeous.. and so full of dogginess. I believe they were used as hunting dogs in the past... and also as companion dogs for monks.. who sacrificed them..... grrrrrr

That poor irish terrier was homed and re homed.. had been in 6 when she came here with the others...and she wasnt more than 9mths old... the people who have her now will be good ... she left me and went straight to the bloke... and didnt look back... hard on the day but pleasing too.

Gizmo took my fingers in his mouth today.. his way of showing affection.. so he is truely on the mend. Thanks once again for your support.
Jaki
