Ashes & Snow

This is taking art to the enth degree: ashes and snow All of you WABers should take a look. I know I could spend hours exploring this site, I have found myself just looking at one picture for nearly half an hour. I'm going back to it so I won't go on explaining it just you go & explore.

Amongst other members of the Animal & Plant Kingdoms. Honestly chunky! I said for you to explore. Have a good look at the site and open your mind. There's alot more going on than just pachyderms

Re: Ashes & Snow

Absolutely amazing site, one of the best I have ever seen

Stunning, may have to add it to my links because not only is the photography/art simply beautiful but the layout and subtle use of Flash is incredible also

Thank you!

Must have been a shock to the system, coping with such creativity. Better luck next time. Enjoy.

Re: Ashes & Snow

Thanks for the heads up EH, stunning photography, I started on the flash site, but am having a very slow connection at the mo and it was really slow on there, so I went to the other side and saw the pictures without the music. I shall return when my connection speed is better...........

Re: Ashes & Snow

I must admit it doesn't do that much for me. In some ways I like it but it also seems a bit pretentious. The images remind me a bit of those Anne Geddes images of babies resting in the hand of a muscley bloke All a bit contrived really.

Each to their own I suppose.

Matt

Re: Ashes & Snow

Thank you Earth Hart. Such beautiful symbolic imagery, I found it really moving and will go back again.

"No longer shown as merely a member of the family of man, humans are seen as a member of the family of animals". My feelings exactly. The moments shared in communion with animals are always the most precious for me.

I'm with you all the way, my deer. I've even been wet behind the eyes a number of times. Words are not enough to do the work justice. One has to feel & be open to one's Self, that's when the fun begins.

Matt, you should spend more time with your heart & spirit than in your head. Open up, relax & let yourself Be.

Re: Ashes & Snow

Having got back from the gig, which went well, I took a quick peak at WAB tosee what had been going on since I left Rugby, sent a few replies, picked up a PM & replied to that, then I went exploring again

Every time I visit A&S I get lost & find something so beautiful it takes my breath away.

This time two hands reaching out & touching, one an Orang Utan, the other a human swimming in the river. Such serenity.

Re: Ashes & Snow

There are some beautiful photographs on the site, thanks Earth Hart. My favourite part though was a quote that appeared while something was loading, "Ever since my house burned down I see the moon more clearly". I've been trying to burn my house down for some time now(metaphorically speaking of course).

Have you seen the movie Baraka?
"Set to the life affirming rhythms of varied religious rituals and nature's own raw beat, Baraka is a visualisation of the interconnectedness humans share with the earth."
Can currently be watched online, not sure how long it will stay up though,

Baraka - Google Video

Koyaanisqatsi is a better film though IMHO.

Andy

I have both on video but I'll download Baraka so it can travel with me. Many thanks Andy for the link, both films are good & I agree with you Koyaanisqatsi is the best of the 2.
