Thanks for the kind words everyone. Think I've more or less sorted and posted the pics that I felt were going to be worth it. I'm back at work, I'm upright, and my mouth is going so I must now be ok?!!!
I have quite a few moth shots left yet (and the moth trap is out in the garden as I write but I don't think its doing anything. . .) other than lighting the neighbours up!
So roll on hols next year is my reaction to 06! I must say tho I did enjoy the ten days in the Cairngorms in March this year. Sometime I may post a pic or two from that - there wasn't much wildlife-wise and the weather was interesting (its been interesting on every break this year so far - and annoyingly rather good back home while I've been elsewhere!). The thing that sticks in my mind from the 'gorms' was going to a hide in Abernethy Forest and watching Pine Martin and
Badgers just on the other side of the glass - that was magic. . .
This last holiday we stayed on a tiny caravan site near Kennack Sands which has
Badgers in the vicinity and if you put food out and wait half the night -
Badgers come to the campervan door. . . I left a bit of 'trap' by leaving our small swing bin out and the noise of the
Badger snatching it off the step (it was empty!) but the noise woke me and we got to sit and watch for almost 50 mins as the
Badger hoovered up a pile of peanuts and sultanas we had put out for him!
We set up the following night (turned the bed around so our heads were opposite the open van door - cameras were left to right and left of the bed - all set ready and cat napped till dawn. Did the
Badger visit - did it heck! Camera shy probably! Or maybe he could hear us snoring a little too clearly!
So Mon we had a broken night - watching the
Badger. Tues we had a broken night waiting for a no-show
Badger. Wed night my dear husband had a 'fake' heart attack (we didn't know it was fake at the time. . .) and Thurs I drove all the way home from Hayle in one go. Friday night I had vicious cramp from driving for 7 and a half hours. . . whatever else you can say - it wasn't a dull holiday!!!!!!
