| | | The British Wildlife Appeal I've just received a letter this morning from solicitors acting on behalf of a man who died last year and bequeathed a legacy to the "British Wildlife Appeal". The Charity Commission has referred the solicitors to Wild About Britain, but we've never had a "British Wildlife Appeal". After a quick search on the net I've found a few references from 1999/2000 to an organisation that operates/operated under this name, but I can't find their website.
If anyone has any connection with them or knows how we can contact them, please could you send me the info so we can pass it on to the solictors.
Thanks

| | | Re: The British Wildlife Appeal from what I can glean from the web , the british wildlife appeal would appear to have taken place in 1987 - this would explain why there is no website cos the internet wasnt really that mainstream back then. The appeal's patron would appear to have been david attenborough so perhaps they should contact him ?

edit: technically it became the royal society of wildlife trusts with "the wildlife trusts as a legal trading identity.
however I can find no trace of the british wildlife appeal on either website , which tens to suggest that this is considered ancient history to them.

| | | Re: The British Wildlife Appeal Further googling has confirmed that Earth Hear is correct the british wildlife appeal was coordinated by the RSNC. David attenborough was patron , while Jullian Pettifer was a joint president of the campaign , chris baines recorded a song with the albion band entiled the wildside of town .
As I said above the RSNC is now the RSWT and their contacts are:

We designed the Wildside of Town Tour T-shirt for Chris & the Albion Band. It was Chris I was going to contact. At the time the RSNC was against the design as it showed a Fox in a dustbin, both Chris & I had a good laugh over it. RSNC said that their members don't want to see foxes scavenging. My daughter still has the photo I took of the vixen and two cubs around our bin. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
