My parents live in Montana and if driving at night, they have to go really slow, because loads of elk etc come down into the valleys at night time, where the roads are. Many people are killed every year by hitting them. The car will take the legs from under them and the body goes into the windscreen.

According to the Daily Mail (so it must be right) terrorists allegedly went on white water rafting trips in Bala north wales "for macho bonding"
Members of a religious group in manchester attended training sessions at a paintball venue
in congleton cheshire, others posed as campers.Only the facts have been changed to protect the innocent

Sorry folk if that is too much info........... | i've heard they have similar issues with camels in saudi too, and come to think of it a mate of mine hit a cow in dorset last year - didnt kill him but it totalled his sierra

One day they'll manage to link all 3 in the same story, it's only a matter of time.

Just been an interesting report on the BBC lunchtime news about Eastern European immigrants who who been catching wild carp from private pools and taking them home for dinner ...... seems they don't understand our concept of throwing em back in alive. |

They take the more sensible attitude, I think! In most parts of Europe people treat carp, pike &c as luxury foods and the idea of catching them (which causes some harm) and throwing them back in half alive must seem very strange!
The major point of the report was that they were taking them from *private* pools which is not legal. Quote: |

This was a "serious" warning to be careful of all the minority groups training
out there in our countryside (to launch attacks against their adopted country
which apparently they loathe)
You could be busy taking photographs of Dragonflies as they hurl ninja stars at
you and ride off on the Bison that somehow turned up in this thread along with
carp rustlers.
I have tried to warn you,when the disappearances start.....................

I think most wildlife watchers would probably spot them before they spot you... if they spot the photographer (in my case) sat in a bush with nothing but a lens poking out. | | | |
