| | | problems with grape vine I know this question isnt strictly within the bounds of a nature site, but I have to find out somehow. I have a productive white grape vine in my conservatory. This normally produces about 20lbs of grapes each year. This year I have a bumper crop (this seems to be the case with most fruits and berries this year.. have you noticed) but grew tomatoes in the same place... and kept the air moist. This created the wrong conditions for the grapes and they have developed greyish/black spots on the skin. They seem to be ripening ok and I think they are ok inside. The question is will they be safe to eat? I have tried gardening forums and not had any luck... so I have come to the font of all knowledge ,... WAB!! Answers on a grape leaf please.

| | | Re: problems with grape vine Could this be pourriture noble, the noble rot or botrytis? If so you might try making sauternes out of it! |

| | | Re: problems with grape vine Thank you guys,You lot are so helpful.. v interesting site that Eeyore. I had looked there actualy but wasnt entirely sure I had made the correct diagnosis.. like the idea of sauternes Paul. So, if it is safe to make wine with.. it is safe to eat the grape I suppose!?!?!
Moral of the story.. dont grow tomatoes in the same place as grapes!
