| | | We'll be playing about with speeding up the forum today - just doing the backup at the moment - so hopefully there should be some improvement by the end of the day.
Did you have the 'Remember Me' box checked when you logged in to the forum? If so, you shouldn't be logged out when you're away from the forum and come back again.
Cheers

| | | 25%? I'm currently running off a 512 broadband and it's almost instantaneous - are there any particular pages that are going slow for you?
Most of the forum pages are over 100k because of the javascript and banner image, but the cache takes care of most of this so it should be running as quick as ever, if not quicker |

| | | Hi Stu - Happy Birthday! It's all running fast enough at my end, but I have had to log in a few times, even though I indicate 'remember' login. |

| | | Seems about right for 1MB connection. I'm back on 1MB connection this morning and it's running at 996.6 Kbps, 122.1 K bytes/sec, which is virtually the same.
We'll keep looking at more ways to improve the speed of the forum and see how we get on - the graphics still need to be optimised etc.
What browser are you using? Firefox is a lot quicker than Microsoft IE, especially on the gallery, because of the way it caches pages like the gallery index thumbnails.

| | It happened to me this morning as well. Unfortunately, I've no idea why it's happening
We'll keep plug away at it and hopefully work out what's wrong with it fairly soon.
Cheers

| | | Re: slow We applied a patch last night that should hopefully do the trick. If you get booted again then you may have to clear the cookies on your PC, so let me know if you have any more problems.
Thanks

| | | Re: slow No, the cookies could help sort out the problem with being booted out and not being able to log back in, but that hopefully shouldn't happen any more after we made some changes yesterday.
For speed, everything seems to be flying along quite happily at this end, so I'm still a bit puzzled why you running so slow. Will keep looking and testing to see if there's something we've missed. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
