A very sucessful evening, 40 plus with almost as many in reserve, the Downs have an ecology of their own and this includes rare butterflys and moths and with the proximity of the Avon Gorge and the wooded river valley Peregrines
The highlight was up by the Observatory(camera obscura) overlooking the Clifton
Suspension Bridge (all lit up and looking very romantic) Pipistrelles gave a premier performance for the children who could see them AND hear them, stepping back I could see a sea of entranced pale faces gazing in awe at the star performers the Pipistrelles
