I quite like the 'ugly' camera too it looks like something the Sean Connery Bond would have.....

but then again I'd quite like a camera with levers (sp?)......

I actually had one once - the poor mans landrover and the only decent lada ever made - They're basic, but for the money (about £4k new but they dont makem anymore) you cant argue - burned the clutch out on mine hauling logs off a contractor site , then sold it for 300 notes to a kid who wanted to do it up.

The only thing that lets em down is the gear box , which doesnt have much in the low ratio end - mine had a box out of a UAZ Gaz (russian army jeep) tho and gave it plenty of grunt

nice little motor at the end of the day , and so long as you arent hitting the m/ways not a bad one if you want a 4x4 on the cheap - I still rather have a cherokee though

I think they are a bit of a classic in the making. Definately a car I'd like to dash about in probably wouldn't do too much off roading really - maybe just the odd field track to get closer to a site or to use the car as a hide.

They're totally amazing! very nearly better than a buggy............. Not as cheap though which is the main thing..........
buggy tax exempt, £130 insurance PA

otherwise Karmann Ghia, a 1950s porsche 356 and/ or (conversly a modern car) a VW Corrado (everyday driver obviously

Dahling EEvvreyone has short Wheelbase, i LIKE the long wheelbase ones you can pile all your mates in then - and there's somewhere to put the cover.

see fun yet still a tiny bit practicle....

and yes girly pink with a jolly roger flag

Re: Pan/Lumix FZ7?

I agree on the 356....another dream car...i got close when i had a 1968 porsche targa 911 that was first owned by a james bond ! ( george lazemby)

With the beach buggy...there is a massive fine line that so many get wrong...its all about wheels size and the important word " Stance"....get the stance looking wrong and it will look like a complete pathetic embaressing naff joke car....get the wheel size bang on front to back ( once you decide if you want the street/low look or the huge tyred off road look) either way...its about the stance....and it HAS to look lower at the front to the back...hard to explain but basically the one you pictured is ALL WRONG in all counts....the buggy is fine...short wheelbase....wheels suck...rear tyres actually look smaller than front? and the suspension is adjusted equal? So no stance at all....but im sure you know all this ? I see so many buggys driving about that make me cringe as someone spent all summer building it then messed up the all important stance....am i going on too much about this? ha ha...its my anal side but buggys need to be just right to be cool ...and so many get it wrong and long wheelbase buggys are NEVER cool they just look all wrong and stretchedl...dont try and be practical...a buggy is totally impractical full stop but thats their magic !...so dont try and convince yourself having long wheelbase and extra ( tiny seats) in the back make it ok? ...they are not meant to be practical?...they are meant to be for 2 people to have a scream and lots of fun and get wet when it rains ! Ok buggy lecture over...and to think this was a camera thread haha

Re: Pan/Lumix FZ7?

oh i totally agree on the wheels they have to be HUGE on the back..... honey I built lego cars with the best of em.....

however, don't agree with the long wheelbase being a no no...... my ex husband had one and it was ace totally ace, big chrome bars around the engine on the back - shiny engine two exhausts, massive tyres on the back, you could hear it a mile away this car had charisma and attitude ooozing from evey nut and bolt - probably to do with it being so built up at the back. It worked honestly it really did. Ideally I want THAT buggy but as close as I can get will be just fine......

NO the one I had was way cooler than that higher at the back, meaner (tan leather???) dirtier grimy, nice pink glitter flake he he he
still meaner and betterer
you're going to have to take my word for it.

the chances of me being able to track that bug down again though are slim so I'll probably take what I can get! will probably by short wheelbase and black....

go for it ha ha
Threads evolve....you can try to stop em but they will still do it....i think the lumix fz7 evolved into the lumix fz50 ...then onto the fz30...followed by a spell about drinking?...onto a discussion about ladas....back onto the new lumix L1 for sometime back to ladas and beach buggies ...onto my poor love life and now trifle....god i love this website !

we were only 'married' for two whole months then the affair started (his).......... we split up nearly two years ago now....

you'd think you would know a person after four years together!!
wrong diddly wrong!!!

oh well at least he sold the buggy to pay for the wedding so I can smirk to myself about that - possibly in an evil manner...

now back to cars or trifle......
yum!!

Re: Pan/Lumix FZ7?

Well, take a pint of cranberry and pomegranite juice in a pan, add 2 sliced peaches and poach for about 10 mins. Remove the peach, and add gelatine (or vege substitute) to the juice, then pour over trifle sponge and allow to set. Layer peach slices with kiwi and banana. Smother with half fat creme fraiche, more fruit, more creme fraiche. Wait (agonisingly) till the next day. Eat!
