Beetle? Id please

This chap is only about 4-5mm long and although I've increased the saturation of the colours they still seem dull compared to what I recall seeing

I'll say a type of Leaf Beetle? Something like Chrysolina sp. to start the ball rolling!

Looks similar to a Bloody-nosed Beetle - Timarcha tenebricosa.
What size was it? Timarcha tenebricosa is about 20mm in length.
Your chap looks slimmer and more shiney though.

No idea! Had a look at this website The Coleopterist which has an extensive gallery. Looked at all the Chrysomelidae(leaf and flea beetles), closest I could find was the Altica lythri.

I think leaf beetle too, doesn't look quite right for a bloody-nosed

It is a Leaf beetle of some description (Chrysomelidae), I wouldn't like to hazard a guess at a more specific identity as there are quite a few small black Chrysomelids...

No I think you're right. I've just noticed Kev did say it was only about 4-5mm long. My bad.
Probably too small for a bloody-nosed and the more pictures I've Googled the less I think it is one.

The closest I've found is Chrysolina banksi (the dark version) but again bigger at 6 -12mm, I don't know?

Aren't beetles fun to Id lmao. The colouration isn't really accurate as it was definately more metallic blue/green with the sun on it
