| | | Birds at my feet I have just filled my bird feeders(sunflower hearts)and froze
as something ran onto my foot ,flight or fight adrenaline surged,
I looked down with trepidation
There perched on the end of my sandle was a young Robin it
seemed totally unconcerned at the fright it had delivered!
My youngest son who sits outside for his tobacco(yes I have told him)
said afterwards that it sits on the bench while he is outside and fuddles
around often

Brave little birds robins.
It's amazing how tame some of the birds get while we feed them, make it all worth while.

| | | Re: Birds at my feet There's a robin a our local garden centre like that. He sings out loud and draws a crowd just a few feet away from him. I must take my camera and get a shot of him. He also nips down onto tables in the cafe part when people are eating. WW

| | | Re: Birds at my feet While walking round my local Wildfowl and Wetlands trust i threw some seeds on the ground for a Robin then knelt dowm and put some seeeds in my hand. The Robin perched on one of my fingers and started feeding. It was so light if you couldn't see it you wouldn't know it was there. It made my day.

| | | Re: Birds at my feet Hi Nightshade,
Yes, they do seem to the bravest of birds. I have had them take mealworms from my hand during the colder months. My partner has also had one sitting on the tripod of her of spotting scope while we were walking the paths at Tring Reservoirs, last Winter. That, and another one would not leave us leave us until we had fed them some crumbs from our packed lunch!
best wishes
