flutterby i think is a speckled wood but it is hard to say from the underwings

I have to say that I know you are not meant to move bats, but my mate needed to leave and so pack away his tarp and we were is an out of the way location and the mobiles did not work, so we could not call the bat people to move it, so I carefully picked it up and moved it to the tree next to the tarp, which had some old woodpecker holes in.
Anyone reading this........Please do not touch bats, get in touch with the bat conservation people. |

Must get out more! | Thanks for that, not seen one myself before. The boys at the camp spent most there time bug hunting and kept on comming back with some lovely insects and then looking through my field guide to id them. This one was not in the book though, I shall let my boy know......... |

I have to say that I know you are not meant to move bats,
Endquote
But you are allowed to move them in the circumstances you describe!

It may of been our fault about the bat landing on the tarp, cos the tarp was attached to the tree with the holes in and the bat may of got confused with the tarp being there........... |
