| | | screen saver Are there any computer buffs out there? I've got a problem, my screen saver is of all of my photos, I've deleted lots of them but now want them back, they're on my screen saver but not in My Pictures, I was wondering if anybody would know how to get them back either on disc or in My Pictures, I've been asking around my friends but nobody seems to know. Thanks in anticipation. Pat |

| | | First check that they're not sitting in the Recycle Bin. If you've deleted them totally off your hard drive you may be able to get them back with some recovery software. I'll look up the name of one that can recover images from disk or flash card - there are several. Other than those suggestions, they are lost forever if you haven't still got them on your camera flash card or backed up on CD.

Pat | Should be on the desktop - looks like a waste paperbin with two green arrows on it - you should be able to do a right Click on it, open it then recover any items in it. |

| | | Thanks both of you, I've found it and restored some of my pics, a few seem to have disappeared but at least I've got a few back. Thanks again. Pat |

| | That's great news, Pat.
There are some image recovery programmes that will restore deleted photos from the hard drive, but normally you have to pay for them. It's not a huge amount and you can test it before you part with any money. If the software sees the photos, you then pay to retreive them. Others restore from formatted camera memory cards and some of these are totally free. I got one loaded on a compact flash card that I bought, then I just downloaded it onto the PC and formatted the card.
Now that you've realised that you may need to keep your photos, maybe you should think about backing them up onto CDs.
