Chobham Common

I'm planning to start spending a lot more time at Chobham Common (Surrey) to try and spot as many of the varied species that reside there.

Has anyone here spent any time at Chobham and if so are there any productive spots that could be recommended. I have already found the preferred roost of a hobby but am greedy so want more !!

andy wragg is the ranger for the site, he's part of surrey wildlife trust. If you call their office and ask for his email and/or mobile they should provide you with contact info no problem and he'll know hotspots, he's been managing the site for many a year now.

CHOBHAM COMMON April 26th 1992

I went to a fantastic rave here on this date that was arranged by a group of travellers called Spiral Tribe.

The police came and smashed the system up, and loads of cars.

Luckily I was not driving that weekend

That's quite a task as you would probably need to look all over! Chobham Common covers over 1.300 acres being the largest National Nature Reserve in the south-east of England and one of the best examples of lowland heath in the world!
