| | | Heatwave WATER is Vital Glancing at a few gardens I was annoyed to see that the birdbaths were empty!
It is so important that our duvet wearing friends have a reliable source of water,
so top up the birdbaths, top up your ponds, offer water at low level in a fairly shallow container for shy birds and small mammals etc. CHECK REGULARLY
God bless the people who are regularly putting out water on local footpaths for the dogs being walked in this heat and the shops in the high street that are also considerate in this respect
PS saw a Fox drinking from a horse trough (one of the very few remaining ones in the area
and it actually works!)

Could not agree with you more, I have to fill our birdbath at least twice a day sometimes three.

| | | Re: Heatwave WATER is Vital Good advice nightshade, I fill my bird bath twice, once before I set off for work and again when I return home. I also have a shallow bird bath which I took of it's pedestal and laid on the lawn and fill that twice a day too.

| | | Re: Heatwave WATER is Vital Thankfully I have built a very shallow stream that can benefit all wildlife and it certainly is being used by the birds.
This heat certainly be a killer to our wildlife if there is no water resources about for them to use. It is up to us humans to supply it where it is in short supply.
