| | | Foreigners Tomorrow I intend to go to an arbo to take some photos of trees. But recently someone said to me watch out for foreign trees. Can I not put foreign trees in the gallery? They are still wild. I understand they have been introduced but so have Rabbits.
What should I do? |

| | | Re: Foreigners I'd say "yes" put them in if they are established in the wild. A good UK flora (say Clive Stace) will say whether a species is native or a garden escape. It will ignore the many domesticated species that are not normally found outside gardens. That seems a good guideline. In an arboretum, you'll find (probably) more non-native species but also some good examples of native trees. Such places are usually terribly neat, so getting a variety of pics of the whole tree, the bark, the leaves etc is probably much easier than in a forest. The arboretum should have them all labelled with full common and scientific names, with the country in which they originated. |

| | | Re: Foreigners Ah I am not sure if it is proper arbo, its what looks to be the grounds of a big country estate. I drove past it the other day and the landscape was nicely manicured and there seemed to be a variety of nice trees, but I am not sure they were labelled. I am going back tomorrow for a deckers and to get some pics. |

What should I do? | I'd be inclined to say that if it has been here a long time it classes as wild - so sycamore, turkey oak, rhodie, cherry laurel, sweet chestnut etc no problemo
However if it is something completely bizarre like serbian spruce then probably not
of course you could stick the whole lot in the unidentied gallery then let the editors decide.
Incidentally is this the arbo we spoke about the other day, near swad ?

| | | Re: Foreigners if you like your trees you should come down here sometime - we have a 400 year old lime, a cojoined willow, the 2nd oldest genetically pure crab apple in the uk (kew have the oldest - for now, now where did i put that chainsaw ? ), A sweetchestnut fairy ring, a fairly recently planted arboretum, and all manner of other good stuff.

| | | Re: Foreigners I am hoping it is owned by a lovely young lady who is going to take me back to the lifestyle that I was used to prior to being kidnapped by the triads and sold to my parents. The womanising circuit is OK, what with Gaffney, Beppe, Best, Brand and Walliams but some of them are going to celebrity love island with Paul so its an ideal time to fraternise with a filly of high calibre. I may have to take advantage of the opportunity tomorrow.
Its not a plastic collar - its metal |

not even with a barge pole strapped to another barge pole (unless it was perhaps tipped with poison arrow frog poison). Don't side yourself alongside them Boddie, you're clearly a far higher quality fella |
