| | | Software/ Casette to CD I need to record an audio tape of bat sounds to a CD,as it is a One-Off what software would be suitable to digitise the taped sound to wav. format
It is a poor recording that needs a lot of volume to be comfortably audiable but too good to ditch!

It is a poor recording that needs a lot of volume to be comfortably audiable but too good to ditch! | Frankly you'd be better off grabing the Wav files off the BCT website and burning them to a CD. If the recording is poor you are likely to get a lot of white noise which will fuzz out the CD also.
I know that this can be sorted with decent sound software but this is unlikely to be easy or cheap.

| | | Re: Software/ Casette to CD A quick google has found this http://www.polderbits.com/ as they have a two week free trial you should be able to do your "one off" gratis and if it dont work propperly or the recording is fuzzed out then you won't have lost anything.
that said I have never used this so please dont sue me if it screws up your Pc

| | | Re: Software/ Casette to CD I used Cool Edit Pro 2000, to copy all my tapes to CD. It has various functions to cut out hiss etc. That was a trial version. it worked very well.

| | | Re: Software/ Casette to CD Goldwave will take the audio in via the line-in on your computer and then you can use some pretty clever filtering routines in the program to clean it up.
