K3N6166-frame looks like a juvenile male Goosander on wing pattern (not sure, could be R-b. Goosander - no books to hand).
Lovely Starling shot Kev - takes me back to '73! |

Lovely Starling shot Kev - takes me back to '73! | Thank you Steve, with the Goosander nudge I think it is a juvenile R-b Goosander (f) the beak isn't curved at the tip as much as the common Goosander?
The two starling flocks I've witnessed have been amazing experiences This year on Anglesey the roost was incredible sight to see and to hear |

Andy | Have to agree with Andy on this one. Sorry Kev.
BTW this is the first time I have had a quick look at Kev's web site. Some stunning images Kev. I particulary like the feeding of the young Dippers.
Cracking web site. I can see that I will have to pose the question to you on how you produce such a web site. I have tried and failed a few times to build one myself but my problem is I don't know anyone with computer knowledge that could help me.
If it is left to my own devices then I have no chance. I am not a Techie in any way shape or form.

John | John,
I use a programme called Gallery which is a php driven database system which is freely available. My website is more like a personal scrapbook of images rather than a 'commerical' site though |

What does php driven database mean?

John | Damn you caught me lol
It's a scripting language used for webpages and I use and abuse it rather than code it lol. The software is available free but you do need some knowledge of server systems in order to set it up and your webspace host needs to give you access to alot of the server software they automatically install. |

I haven't a clue where to even start. As I said earlier there isn't one person I know that understands computers. What I know is totally self taught.
Oh well, I think I will have to remain web siteless.

| | | Re: IDs please if you want a website but dont want to script it yourself there are services available for the neotechs amongst us
if you just want a gallery you could use fotopic.net, or similar sites - these are free for upto 250mb of images, it will look better than the yahoo gallery but will still be pretty basic.
next step up is something like http://www.clikpic.com/ which will allow you to produce a nice looking website very simply and host if for you for only £35pa I used to have one of these until i outgrew it and started to think about going comercial.
Another step up are services like amazing internet http://www.amazinginternet.com/ who will produce you a very nice site but are a lot more expensive (£250pa)
and then of course there are bespoke design services where the sky is the limit in terms of design but also in terms of price
I nearly went the amazing internet route for my new site, until I.... ahem... "acquired" a copy of macromedia dreamweaver and decided to teach myself to use that instead.
