| | | Dulally monitor! A couple mornings this week when I've turned the computer on, the monitor hasn't come on. If you press the monitor on/off button and leave it for a second and turn it on again, the monitor comes on. This morning though when I did this, the monitor came on but the picture only stayed there a few seconds before it faded away to blackness. I did the on/off a couple of more times and it eventually stayed on!
Do you think the monitor is on the way out or what? Or could it be the graphics card?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try unpluging it from the PC if it doesn't work then, theres your answer. Oh don't try to open the back and tinker as we like you best alive

Why would your wife tell me it costs too much
Good job I'm not married - still cost too much though
The trouble is it's a good monitor! Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 720. It was one of the best ones you could get, and it still is to some extent I believe!
What did you mean about unplugging it? What will/should happen? Won't it just go blank, or do you mean if you plug it back in, it should just come straight back on again?
I don't want to fade away I tell ya! |

A good CRT monitor is better than any flat screen that I have seen. But my flat's just fine and its a cheapy from Dell. If you powerup the monitor without it being connected to the PC you should get an error message come up. If not try to get the monitor control menu up. if you get nothing it's dead
A dam good kicking can sometimes work as a FINAL resort (The screen, not the wife)

Kev | I think I gave the wrong impression on my first post!
I'm looking at it now so it does work. It's just that a couple of times when turning on it goes dead! That's why I was wondering if it's on the way out! |

Almost all monitors come with 3 year warranties, especially quality ones like yours. It's a little fact that retailers forget to mention, hoping to sell their extortionate extended warranties. |
