Re: No wildlife groups in my area. Help please

Another alternative Kev, would be to join a local photography club. I know it's not necessarily what you're looking for, however, you will encounter like-minded people interested in wildlife, develop your skills as a photographer and more than likely go on club outings to specific places of interest.

The best place to find the closest one to you is probably here: www.pagb-photography-uk.co.uk
Go to that link, click on the federation that best applies to you (the link is on the left-hand side) and then take it from there.

Thanks Ian
Joined my local group last year. Trouble is they have very mixed interests. No doubt a few will join but the majority is arty piccys. I really need the true wildlife buffs to go out on outings and club meets etc.

Try the local wildlife trust - they probably have members days and stuff.

Okay Kev, 'twas always worth the try though. I know what you mean about the arty pics, I'm a culprit of that also, but hey, I enjoy every aspect of photography

Re: No wildlife groups in my area. Help please

What area are you planning to cover? The Hastings group supposedly covers East Sussex
http://www.escis.org.uk/Entry/View/H...y_Society/7735

Then there's the wildlife trust:
http://www.sussexwt.org.uk/events.htm

and the biodiversity records centre http://www.sxbrc.org.uk/

and there are four local rspb groups in East Sussex:
http://www.rspb.org.uk/england/south...ast_sussex.asp

and then there's this list http://rxwildlife.org.uk/wildlife-groups/

If none of them cover your area, they may have contacts/members in the area who might be interested, and should certainly be able to help with advice on starting up.

Good links. Thanks harasseddad. Nothing quite hits the mark though. The area I would like it to cover is specifically the chalk Downland from Beachy Head to Seaford and inland to Lewes.
