| | | Tips to beat the heat.......... Personally, I love this weather, but I know that it is hard on some people, so I though I would start a thread on tips for keeping cool.
My one would be to stick your wrists under cold running water for a while, really works, my boy was crying last night cos he was so hot. I got him to put his wrists under the cold tap for a bit and he soon went to sleep after.
Any more ?................Jon |

Ps........Have a fan on me now, thats cool......... | Well thats just one thread but there are others relating to it from the last 2 weeks.
Oh and I have a fan by my PC and a large one in the bedroom which runs all night but it's still to hot.
Roll on next Thursday/Friday.......cold front coming in from the Atlantic.
The only good thing about this temp is the great thunderstorm it might induce. |

| | | Re: Tips to beat the heat.......... Well I have just read it all and still none the wiser. Are my photo's which are hosted by im*ge sh*ck advertising them, so I am in the wrong for putting them (the photo's) up. I understand that some people are advertising and where do you draw the line on that and I agree with Stuart with what he says. All I know is it now messes up my smileys and photo's are not enlarged by clicking on them, it just opens up a new window.
Still, this is not the end of the world, I can live without smileys, but I do like to put up photo's, is there another way of doing so, that does not advertise anyone ?
Sorry to go off subject folks, keep going with tips, I am sure it will help some with the heat.............Jon |

We would have had a water fight but theres a hose pipe ban and there isnt one where i live, kinda odd hehe.
Great tips for keeping cool, and also drink about at least 3 litres of water on a hot sunny day at regular intervals

Why do you refer to Ian Duncan Smith as what? I like the bloke.
I agree with your wrists under the tap. An ex-customer of mine taught me this on seeing I had downed a few too many sherberts in Como one year, and was suffering rather in the exhibition hall. It worked a treat and is an excellent tip. |

| | | Re: Tips to beat the heat.......... Do you know what I dislike the most about summer?
Having to run the tap for ages to get a cold drink. In the winter, fantastic. But in the summer I find myself having to run it for at least a minute to have a nice cool drink. |

| | | Re: Tips to beat the heat.......... Try putting jugs or bottles of water in the fridge. As you empty one re-fill it so there is always cold water to drink without the waste of running water from the tap to get a cold drink.
