| | | North Yorkshire Moors Today I went up on the moors and saw an Adder straight away crossing the road in front of the car. Only a juvenile, maybe 18 inches long. I nearly made buttons so could only drive by and look, as I dare not open the car door, or take a photo, because of my phobia.
I then saw a bird I do not recognise but I liked the look of it. I attach a photo for ID.
I also attach some orchids and a yellow flower which I can not identify, and a berry too.
Then, on getting back to the gaff I am staying at I saw a sparrowhawk which must just have caught a collared dove and was devouring its prey. 20 foot in front of the car. Yummie.
I also went to Whitby, where there was a war time weekend theme with loads of period dressers, so it was a great day out .
I meant to attach all these photos anyway but can only attach one it appears.
Why? |

| | | Re: North Yorkshire Moors As far as I can tell boddie you havent actually attached any - you did put them into one of the "straight in" galleries as opposed to the moderated ones didnt you ?
(see discussion about this in the attaching images thread)

| | | Re: North Yorkshire Moors The berry looks like a black thorn sloe, and the two flowers are orchids I think - incidentally you have put each of the latter two in twice. the last one being common spotted i thunk.

I make the yellow flower bog asphodel and with 10,000 images it seems to be a first. I am chuffed to bits. I may go back tomorrow with the Sigma. |
