| | | Valuable Books. I was browsing an out of print field guide today. There were certain parts that were of interest to me. When I got home, I decided to track down a copy. I did a worldwide search as the usual book channels were showing nothing.
I found one copy in the entire world for sale, in America! Price $267!!!!!!!
Very roughly converted to £150!!
The point I'm making is-if you have some out of print, elderly, insignificant looking books parked on your bookshelf, take good care of them and insure them!
I'm getting a locking cabinet for some of my oldies as soon as I can afford one.

| | | Re: Valuable Books. Some of the Collins new naturalists go for well over £1000..probably nearer £2000 for the 'golden 13' (13 books in the series are seriously rare and hard to find)
The observer books are becoming collectable but nothing like in that league in value...they are all over ebay in varying condition...but we are talking tens not hundreds of pounds.
King Ladybird books are becoming collectable too...which i think were a slighty grown up version of ladybird books?

Hi Dan, are you thinking of King Penguin books? They are going up in price, and have some good illustrations. |
