Other way round I think.
A hectare is almost the same size as a m0ximum sized football pitch (there is no set size, though I think professional clubs have to reach a minmum too - not checked that)
An acres - 0.4 hectare
I hectare = 10,00 sq metres
Acre = 4 roods = 10 sq chains = 4840 sq yards = 160 sq poles = Statute acre
(there are Irish and Welsh acres which were different, and a Saxon acre or "customary" which was different again).
The decimal system does have a lot going for it !!
