| | | What Are You Doing Today ? Today I went to Bempton. Weather was fine but very windy making hand held shots a bit more difficult. Anyway I think I've improved me 'inflight' skills.
980 shots to sort and I reckon 95% will be dumped. Still a few puffins about as well as Razor Bills & Guillemots, plus the hoards of Gannets.
The only downside to the day was that Roger was too ill to accompany us.
Get well soon mate.

P.S- I was gutted at not being able to come to Thursley. You were one of the members I'd have really loved to have met. |

| | | Re: What Are You Doing Today ? Hello ive had a good day , first a little bit shopping plus get my garden news every tuesday, then done little housework, then my little garden helper came and hes done few odd jobs to my fencing, also I need 3 more golden leylandii so hes dug the holes ready and I will pick them up tomo, painted the new bits of fencing. Had a sandwich and plenty more cups tea in the summerhouse, well you need several breaks when the weather is hot which it has been yoday again, !!!! Oh went to the dump to get rid of some garden rubbish and saw someone chuck an old wooden garden gate away, its so old fashioned I didnt need a working gate but just wanted one to hang with the arch lve already got up , I brought that home got my battery op screwdriver out done odd repairs left it with the paint peeling off it looks so cottagey and authentic and a little green moss here and there well pleased with that, then I had to go in to get the tea ready ive had a super duper day. shei

I swear it was delayed effects of that motorway breakfast we had on Saturday on the way to Thursley.
I'm gutted I couldn't make it today, had a thoroughly wasted and miserable day.
I may if the weather is ok try and get to Bempton on Friday
Anyway pleased to see you and Dave had a great day

Will be in touch before then.

This afternoon we went to a local nature reserve, didn't see another human all the time we were there but were surrounded by lots of nature:
Treecreeper
Silver washed fritillary
comma Small Skipper Marbled White Fox - in the midday sun!
plus many more, took 170 photos, kept 50 and had a lovely time and could have stayed for much longer had my old man started not moaning about the heat

Despite living 3 miles from the coast I never seem to get there, always busy elsewhere.
Had a good day out today at a local site. I`d originally went down there to get a few new pics for the tracks/signs thread, but saw my first Small Skippers of the year, absolutely hundreds of Meadow Browns (the most i`ve ever seen in a single day) and a new species in the shape of a Ringlet, which I managed a shot of too. Also got a shot of a Scorpion Fly, again the first i`d seen this year.
Watched an Emperor hawking in an area sheltered from the strong wind, and lots of various Damsefly species.Thousands of juvenile Toads making their annual migration away from their birthplace, had to watch where I was stepping as they were everywhere!!
The sun shone most of the time I was out, and managed to get the pics I wanted for the thread too, so a great day all round
