| | | Why are you grumpy today? I've noticed a recent trend towards grumpiness, bickering and general bad-temper on this site in the past week. I put it down to the weather. But can we please get back to being a caring, friendly community?
This thread is for anyone who needs to get something off their chest. This is NOT the place to talk about problems with the web site or another WAB member. This IS the place to talk about whatever life has just thrown at you.
A problem shared is a problem halved and all that. |

I must admit from someone who suffers depression this weather is really getting me down at the moment.I deal with my depression by getting out in the countryside with my camera. The exercise not only helps with keeping me fit but also keeps my spirits up and if I get a good piccy I am on a high for the rest of the day. When the sun is out I am full of energy but when cold and wet I feel tired and listless. So come back Sun. | | | Re: Why are you grumpy today? Work is getting me down at the moment, it just gets in the way of having fun. Last week felt like the longest week of my life. I enjoy working with children, but don't always enjoy working with my colleagues, well, one colleague. I usually get on with everyone, but this person seems determined to undermine me at every turn and my confidence is plummeting. Must think of ways to rise above it or look for another job

However....I must say the weather ticks me off too. After waiting through months of eternal grey and dreariness for summer (SAD sufferer here), summer arrives and is barely noticeable. If it's not raining and/or dull, the sun is spoilt by that incessant wind which keeps on and on....and on. It continually spoils whatever we do. No parasol on the patio for fear of lift-off (yes, it does happen here on a hill by the coast! ), no back windows open as the doors keep slamming! Washing wrapped around the line in knots, or hanging indoors to dry cos of the rain....Cleaning Rabbit hutches swathed in swirling wood shavings....Newly potted plants battered down before they've time to get established.....anything here sound familiar??
Yer - just little things I know, but a small break this summer (before it's all over) from the inconvenience of inclement weather would be much appreciated....

| | | Re: Why are you grumpy today? I've just woken up and was feeling down, then i realised my pillow had burst.
There were egg shells in my bed, i'd overlaid.
Life is so awful at the moment i just can't cope, yesterday i threw myself in front of a moving train and my nephew kindly asked me to keep away from his model train set, which upset me even more, so i threw myself out of my bedroom window, then realised i live in a bungalow.
Oh well i suppose i can try and make someone else laugh, seeing others smile always makes me feel better.
It doesn't matter how bad things are, it could always be worse, you could be me

This happened earlier today. Just finishing bathing the dog and as usual got as wet as he did. The doorbell went. I ignored it but it went again and again so thinking something was wrong I rushed downstairs doing my best wet T-shirt impression
There on the doorstep was this silly little man who immediately put his foot in the door proceeded to say 'I'm not selling anything......but' (as always) and then launched into a hard sell trying to get me to switch to British Gas
Then to make things even he 'pretended' he was hard of hearing when I said no thank you (politely for me )
How he didn't break his toes when I slammed the door I don't know, he must have quick reflexes, but I don't think he'll be back! If he does I'll set the dog on him (all 13lbs of hardcore shih tzu )
