But you know what, I may get upset sometimes but I am not grumpy cos we are making the most of every minute we can. I am grateful for all the precious things I have. Life is too short. | Your words are an inspiration! Thank you. |

| | | Re: Why are you grumpy today? I shouldn't be grumpy as the six week hols start on Friday (the only decent thing about being a teacher), but I am and it's because I have a meeting on Wednesday about the new Secondary Curriculum. Of course it is another load of trendy, hippyish, bureaucratic nonsense that will do nothing to raise standards.
Gadzooks, what have I become. I am so bitter. I am turning into my old man

| | | Re: Why are you grumpy today? I am not so much grumpy as sore!
Last night the landlord and his wife had their leaving do from my local which was a really great party.
The sore part came from my (dubious!) route home and the grass stains on my blouse this morning (and the bruises!).
Also, when I left the pub apparently I was hugging a lamp post! and I had a bottle of wine in my bag. I have never found this bottle so can only assume someone out early this morning had a bit of good fortune!
This is disgraceful behaviour at my mature years!! But I did have a jolly good time!

Completely know what you are going through . Things have got so bad where I work that im now looking for another job - I dont understand people who go out of their way to make someone else's life a misery (my partner says its coz this particular person is unhappy in their own life, so wants other people to feel the same - nice eh??!! ) Anyway - keep your chin up and dont let your colleague get you down - her problems are just that - HER PROBLEMS!!!
All the best and hugs

You can't change them but you can change how you react to the problem and how you handle it. Unfortunately bullying doesn't stop with children but you must rise above it, do your job and don't give the person a reaction otherwise it gives them a reason to carry on, ie your response. It can arise from a variety of issues including jealousy, not feeling confident in life to just picking on an easy target. Remember you have done nothing wrong.

| | | Re: Why are you grumpy today? I could be grumpy today as the rest of the family moved into our brand new house yesterday after months of 'getting to that point'. It is also my Birthday today but since Thursday last week and until Monday (tomorrow) I am up working in Scotland with 4am starts, meaning stuck in a hotel room tonight on my own on my Birthday and I get to move into the new house days after eveyone else grrrrr!
Must admit even though I am trying not to be, tiredness from the very early starts is making me a bit sullen about the above today! |

Been feeling slightly grumpy myself for a few weeks, deffo because of the weather ... just haven't been able to get out and about anywhere much because of it and getting a bit fed up being couped up indoors all the time watching films when what I really want to be doing is going out visiting some local reserves! Just spent a week in the Lake District ... in the wind and rain ... (and the best part of it with a horrendous flu/cold thing!) .. oh, well, nevermind, looks like summer may have, at last, arrived today |

Yes, posted a bit earlier to the Hello thread .... I'm struggling a bit finding my way around on here, having been on a forum with a completely different format for almost three years.
Look forward to catching up with you on some of the other threads, once I've had chance to read through |

Love my job but first day of sunshine for ages made me sad and annoyed that we have to go to work so many hours a week to survive in this day and age. Then I came home, saw 4 frogs in the pond trying to look invisible while lurking and it made me happy.

At my train station a tree overlooks the other platform and whilst waiting for one to work in the morning, greenfinches would be 'wheezing' in the toppermost branches. It made me wish I had my camera and a day off

Not feeling quite so grumpy today as I can hear goldfinches in my garden - lovely !! (they're probably a bit miffed with me tho, as I haven't put any of their 'special' food out for them for ages .. keep forgetting to buy some <doh!>) |

| | | Re: Why are you grumpy today? I'm grumpy 'cause the new mouse won't work. It'll be going back to the well known high street retailer and I shall stick to the good old PS2 wired mouse.
Not that I ever use a mouse, its HiD what uses it. I prefer the pad & pen.
